Three weeks are up!! This is the final two days of pictures and the rains have finally stopped (for the most part)
This is our view from the patio terrace at the Hotel Esplande. Now that it's not so cloudy you can see the snow covered mountains in the background.

Sure wish we had this view a couple of days ago when we first got here. Oh
well....

This is the beach one short block from the hotel. Must be nice in the summer
time.

...this is their off season, so I guess they don't spend too much time
cleaning it up!!

On the way back to Roccadaspide - just to take some pictures of the
surrounding landscape since we couldn't really see it before.

Looks like they're getting pretty high-tech out here - a wind farm up on the
surrounding hills...

....and, thanks to Alex's telephoto lens, here's a closer look...

Drove around and got another view....

More fun with the telephoto lens....a castle on the hill...

A very small town on the way to Rocca.....

Speed limit 50 - 50 kilometers that is!!....that's 30 mph for the rest of us.

Did I mention that this place was gorgeous!!!

And there's Roccadaspide on the side of the mountain.

Pasquale & Gretchen's house and cabinet factory....

Ok, I had to take a picture of this. This sign is warning that there are 8 dangerous turns coming - use caution.

Here's what the turns look like on Google Earth.

Each turn was marked with a sign numbering them. Look down the road - do you
see where it makes a U-turn. Yeah, that much!!

And then, of course, these turns all get slippery when it snows!!!! Duh!!

And now it's time to say good bye to Roccadaspide. Until next time.

Here we are back in Naploli. Without the rain you can actually see the mountains!!

Just one more example of the narrow roads....

This is a 13 second exposure of Mt Vesuvius at night. It was pitch black and I couldn't really see the mountain. After I took this picture I realized you could see it and took a couple of more.

This is the next morning with the sun coming up behind the Volcano.

As the sky got brighter, the exposure was shorter and you can't see the city lights as well.
